TEXT_As part of the reorganisation of the station at Chaumont into a multimodal hub bringing together pedestrians, cars, bicycles, buses and trains, our team proposed the improvement of the station district, a hierarchical separation of traffic flows and the opening of the area to the south by the crossing of the railway tracks.
The reconquering of the land alongside the tracks – which has considerable real estate value due to its relationship with the centre of the city – enables us to establish a real district, truly at the service of mobility. Here, traffic flows are calmed and distributed thanks to the intelligent coordination of the various means of transport, which optimises circulation at all scales of the project: the district is a new “economic shop window” for the City of Chaumont and its conurbation.
